Chrysalis Club Tynedale
Chrysalis Club Tynedale offers an exciting range of activities and social events for people living with dementia and ongoing memory problems (our members), including their families, friends and support workers. We hold tutored sessions such as pottery, table-top gardening, sport, singing and art for our members with the support of Chrysalis’ volunteers. Our timetable also includes trips out to pantomimes, the theatre, golf clubs and even the local alpaca farm, for regular members.
Our members have fun, learn new hobbies, and make new friends in a warm and welcoming environment. We also run a monthly family members’ group (while an activity runs in another room); here people have the option to talk about their experiences and ideas, and share strategies that work for them. Family members can gain encouragement, build friendships and receive support. Occasionally, expert speakers such as solicitors, doctors and care managers attend the meetings and pass on advice
