Heart Wood Men's Groups
Are you living with poor mental health? Would you benefit from talking with and listening to other men? We offer group sessions in woodland facilitated by therapists. Our sessions run weekly in Spring and Summer and fortnightly during the Autumn and Winter. We meet in a natural woodland setting. There's time to sit by the fire, have a cup of tea, chat to therapists and each other, make soup and take part in woodland conservation.
Heart Wood is a trauma informed mental health charity based in West Northumberland. We offer person-centred therapeutic group counselling in a natural environment. Our groups are for men who identify as having long term poor mental health. Most of our participants are unable to engage with more traditional forms of therapy. Our group sizes are small and manageable and are facilitated by our team of qualified person-centred therapists.
Our sessions are held in private woodland in Minsteracres Retreat Centre (DH8 9RT). There is no charge for sessions and particpants are welcome to make a voluntary donation if they wish. Transport can be provided for participants living within Tyne Valley / Hexhamshire areas.
