WECAN (We Enable Children and Adults with Additional Needs)
We are a Charity supporting children, young people and adults with additional needs to access local leisure activities and events whilst providing short break/respite for parents/carers. The children, young people and adults we work with have learning and physical disabilities, autistic spectrum disorders, challenging behaviour and other complex needs. We also support children, young people and adults with health care needs such as: specialist feeding requirements, epilepsy, medication needs and personal care.

Saturday Clubs:
- Our term time Saturday Club for children and young people, meets at the meet in Hexham at varying venues from approximately 11am to 2pm. During these sessions the children and young people participate in a range of activities of their choice including (but not limited to): arts and crafts, bowling, sports, dancing, gaming and swimming
- Our term time Saturday Club for adults, currently meets at various venues in Hexham from 3pm to 6pm. During these sessions the adults participate in a range of activities of their choice including (but not limited to): bowling, shopping, dining out, arts and swimming.
Easter Scheme and Half Term Holidays:

During the two week Easter school holiday period we deliver activity sessions for our children and young people one day each week from 9.30am to 3.30pm

During each of the half term school holidays (February, May and October) we deliver activity sessions for our children and young people one day each week from 9.30am to 3.30pm
Summer Scheme:

During the long school Summer holiday period we deliver activity sessions during the first five weeks, either two or three days each week from 9.30am to 3.30pm.

Who can use this service?
Children, young people and adults with a disability or additional need living in South West Northumberland and aged from 6 years upwards.
How are services delivered?
Our sessions take place every Saturday during term time and throughout the school holidays.
Locations
