Alzheimer's Society Northumberland: Dementia Advice Service

The Alzheimer’s Society's Dementia Advice service in Northumberland is available to provide one to one support to all people in Northumberland who have received a diagnosis of dementia or are worried about their memory. They also support those who care for them. They can support you at any time you need any help during your journey with dementia. The service is unique to your personal circumstances and needs.

Dementia Advisers will listen to and answer any questions you have, provide accurate, clear, relevant and useful information that is easy to understand and provide the service at a place and in a way that is convenient for you.

They will help you understand key information around a diagnosis of dementia and what this may mean for the individual and their family. They can also provide information regarding Health and Social Care and other community-based services that may help you. Information can be requested which might be useful to carers, family members and friends. They can also provide information regarding Lasting Powers of Attorney, Benefits and other things that may help.

Where appropriate Dementia Advisers will refer and/or signpost you to other services and agencies.

Who can use this service?

How are services delivered?

We can provide advice and support to anyone affected by dementia or worried about their memory. This can be a person with a diagnosis of dementia and their family and friends. 

 

 

Our Dementia Advisers provide advice and support across Northumberland. They tailor their support to your needs. 

Services can be delivered in your home, another  venue or by telephone/email - this is up to you.
