Blyth Tall Ship

Blyth Tall Ship aims to be a life changing ‘Gangway To The Sea’, that brings hope and aspiration to Blyth and the surrounding region, through skills training and individual engagement, supported by a family of volunteers and trusted collaborative partnerships.Blyth Tall Ship delivers our Learn The Ropes Maritime Heritage Courses including, Beginners Woodworking, Heritage Knitting, Archiving and Conservation, Shanty Singing, Sewing with Sailcloth, Seamanship and Ropework and NVQ Level 1 course from our two premises in Blyth.All courses are currently free.

We are funded mainly by the Heritage Lottery Fund and a number of other organisations such as the Port of Blyth, Northumberland County Council, The Rotary Club of Blyth and Awards for All, the Sage Foundation and many of the charities administered by the Community Foundation.

How are services delivered?

The courses are open to all aged 16+, there is no upper age limit, with tuition and materials provided at no charge to participants.

The services are delivered face to face at one of our two premises in Blyth and also where required on baord our Tall Ship, Williams 2.
