The Forcer Protocol
The Forcer Protocol is a tool used by the Police to ensure key information is available to them when they are searching for serving personal / veterans who are missing. Serving within and transitioning from the Armed Forces can be an overwhelming experience and, in some instances, a difficult and distressing experience to process mentally. This can lead to mental health decline, such as anxiety, depression, the effects of PTSD and impact trauma.
Concerns are raised for these people, who may go missing and contemplate suicide, with tragic outcomes. In such situations it is essential to do everything possible to find them and provide them with support services and specialised aftercare. The aim is to reduce the risk of harm to service veterans by enabling swift access to key information that can help the police find the person more quickly. Safe and Found Online has developed an online version of the Forcer Protocol.
- The protocol is named after Alan Forcer, who tragically completed suicide after concerns were raised over his whereabouts.
